Azerbaijani Delegation of “Foundation European Democracy and Human Rights”
The chairmanship of Azerbaijani Delegation of “Foundation European Democracy and Human Rights” has met the locals in Alkhanly village and investigated the situation there on the occasion occurred on 4th of July 2017.
With the deepest feelings of sorrow, we announce that the fact Armenian Armed Forces cause tensions in the frontline regardless of international law, especially targeting civilians leads to the violation of human rights.
Targeting the Alkhanly area of Fuzuli, where civilians reside on 4th of July, killing armless and innocent people, subjecting the village to shootings are a big danger and threat to the permanent peace.
The killing of two citizens, including a minor aged, wounding of a few during the visit of OSCE Monitoring Groups to the frontline are a belligerent attitude of Armenian Armed Forces towards the principles of international law, accepted international norms, all kinds of agreements, and generally, towards humanity.
Armenian government is to be held directly responsible for the sabotage taking place in the frontline and the violation of human rights, since it has been keeping the territories under occupation regardless of four Resolutions by the United Nations Security Council, along with many decisions and declarations of influential international organizations.
“Azerbaijani Delegation of “Foundation European Democracy and Human Rights” condemns the events taking place in Alkhanly village on 4th of July 2017. The United Nations Security Council, OSCE Minsk Group, PACE and ECHR, European Parliament, and the international institutions who call for the peaceful settlement of the conflict, should increase their efforts on defending the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and its sovereignty urging the Armenian Armed Forces to leave the occupied Azerbaijani territories immediately and unconditionally, without keeping silent before the facts of killings of children, women and elderly people, adopting determinant decisions on ending the occupation, in accordance with the principles of international law and inviolability of internationally accepted borders.
